During my first trip to India in 2017 I helped document the process of a micro business being created from donations sent over from Australia for a single Mother of three named Vimla. Vimla and her children, Rushan who is 14 years old, Puja 12 years, Arte 10 years and the youngest Carne who is 7, welcomed me into their home and lifestyle. Being from the Gypsy cast, jobs they are permitted to do and places the are allowed to live are limited. However their desert camp on the edge of Puskkar City is a safe place, with neighbours that look out for each other and families that stay together generally all their lives.
